Meeting Overview

EarthSpirit Team meetings bring together members and friends of First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Diego who wish to make the church a more earth-friendly congregation, both on the church campus and in our private lives. We want to learn how best to live on this earth with minimal damage and in a way that promotes justice for all beings. We have chosen to do this by implementing the Green Sanctuary Program (http://uuministryforearth.org/gspoverview.html).

The EarthSpirit Team surveyed the current environmentally focused activities at church, and developed Action Plans to help the congregation work toward a more sustainable future. Our meetings concentrate on implementing the Action Plans and are open to any interested people. We encourage people to get involved in actions that excite them most, knowing that we will sustain our activity if we have the opportunity to act on issues that are dear to us.

Meeting Location & Time

Meetings are held every other month, on the first Wednesday from 7:00-9:00 pm, in Room 307 at the church (4190 Front Street in Hillcrest, across from UCSD Medical Center). To join the team or to get more information, please contact Marge Wurgel, co-chair, at 619-263-2165 or margewur@cox.net.
