Projects Offered by Volunteers or Other Church Groups
Overview:
- Hold discussion group on Peak Oil and a book, "Plan
B, Rescuing Planet Earth" by Lester Brown
- Earth Centered Spirituality Circle - Our interest
is in doing work to help church groups run environmentally
friendly meetings and gatherings (i.e., no disposable
cups/plates/etc.). We have food at all our gatherings
so have made a decision to not use disposables. We
are beginning to encourage our attendees to bring
their own plates and stuff, and we are interested
in taking this effort to the wider church.
- Network of Spiritual Progressives Political Action
Committee – Hold an educational program on global
warming to let participants know what practical steps
they may take to reduce/prevent global warming.

Update: Ongoing
- Peak Oil class series held in August, 2007. COMPLETED
ACTION.
- Fall 2007 Members of Earth Centered Spirituality Circle
and EarthSpirit Team are working with staff and Ministry Team Council on procedures for environmentally
friendly kitchen use. PROGRESS BEING MADE.
- 4/15/07 Program held. COMPLETED
